In Austria, the four-year apprenticeship in furniture-making technology is offered with two specialisations: production and planning. The programme bridges the gap between the three-year cabinetmaking apprenticeship and technical education at school or university level. For many years, schmidinger möbelbau has successfully trained apprentices in the “CNC Production” specialisation.

Chair Kurt by Peter Eberle (schmidinger möbelbau) and Victor Ciola (Tischlerei Andreas Flatz) was created as their final CNC project at the end of their furniture-making technology apprenticeship. Despite the demanding requirements, Eberle and Ciola achieved an outstanding result in both design and technical execution. The chair was produced in American walnut and elm.
