For the design of his final apprenticeship piece (“Gesellenstück”), Peter Eberle drew inspiration from the retro style of the 1960s and 1970s. The continuous American walnut veneer wraps elegantly around the corners, which open to reveal two tambour fronts.

At the centre of the sideboard are two drawers running on full-extension wooden slides. A brushed brass plate is inset into the top, creating a harmonious contrast with the dark walnut.

While Peter used modern CNC machining techniques to produce the cabinet body, the base was crafted using traditional methods. He turned the legs and stretchers himself on the lathe.
