Childhood chest “Elena and Paul” is a timeless companion of a human life. A piece of furniture that is given to the child at birth. In the course of our childhood and while growing up, this piece of furniture accompanies us to the first own apartment, later to the self-built house. The childhood chest protects and preserves the objects that always remind us of our childhood: A piece of furniture understood as palimpsest of the memory of time. Based on the designs of Yvonne Schreiber and Michael Lammer, schmidinger möbelbau produced the equally functional and emotional childhood chest for the competition Handwerk+Form 2018.
