project progress: st hedwig’s cathedral

An extensive range of church furnishings for St Hedwig’s Cathedral in Berlin is currently being produced in workshops across the Bregenzerwald. It is a unique project for schmidinger möbelbau in Schwarzenberg and its regional partners specialising in metalwork, glass, upholstery and wood – and another international commission that places its trust in the craftsmanship of the Bregenzerwald.

More than 700 church chairs and children’s stools, large and small display cases, as well as offering tables, credence tables, donation boxes and a candle ring will be delivered to Berlin in October 2024. The commission also includes central liturgical pieces such as the altar and ambo for the lower church.
